Goals

Beach Haven Board/District Goals 2023-2024

Goal 1: Beach Haven will ensure development of strong readers, writers and thinkers through an increased focus on the quality of instructional practices and alignment of our instructional programs and curriculum.

The district will provide professional development and resources to staff. PreK-3 teachers will consistently utilize best practices in teaching phonics and word study through our Fundations program. Teachers and students will develop writing portfolios for each student in grades Pre-K through 6. Teachers will review and update the curriculum and pacing guides for better progression and continuity of the ELA learning process We will increase alignment of cross-curricular writing expectations, feedback and assessments.

The superintendent is the educational leader who develops and supports intellectually rigorous and coherent systems of curriculum, instruction, and assessment to promote each student’s academic success and well-being.

Goal 2:   Beach Haven will implement best practices in student problem-solving and collaboration to increase students' understanding and mathematical thinking to enhance instruction and student learning outcomes in elementary math.

The district will provide professional development and resources to staff. Lessons will incorporate regular think-alouds, number talks and student reflections. Teachers will monitor and provide specific feedback to collaborative and independent work. Students will engage in real-life learning experiences where students can apply their math strategies and facts while also broadening their understanding of time and money.

Goal 3: The Beach Haven District will continue to build strong partnerships and connections with families and the community. 

The district will focus on communication and collaboration to promote a system of care, support, and extended learning opportunities for all students inside and outside of the classroom.
